Jeff Adams, Ph.D.

Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Adams is a Texas licensed psychologist with extensive experience treating individuals
with various medical conditions including mood disorders, chronic pain and acquired brain injuries. Dr. Adams received his doctoral degree (Ph.D.) from the APA-accredited Counseling Psychology program at the University of Houston. He also completed a 2-year post-doctoral residency in Clinical Neuropsychology at the Institute for Clinical Neurosciences. Dr. Adams obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Nebraska and a Master’s degree in Sport Psychology from Florida State University. Within his clinical work, Dr. Adams enjoys completing comprehensive neuropsychological assessments, psychological evaluations and

working as part of multidisciplinary treatment teams.

Valerie Richardson, LMSW

Licensed Master Social Worker

Ms. Richardson began her career by serving AmeriCorps Vista branch of the Corporation for National and Community Service.  Her involvement included effective crisis intervention and direct practice with the United States federal government program to give back to her community.  Ms. Richardson earned her Masters of Science in Social Work at the University of Texas at Arlington. She exercises compassion and empathy while providing individual, couples, family, and group counseling.  She utilizes evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), and motivational interviewing (MI) for individuals experiencing a variety of chronic psychiatric disorders and comorbidities such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and bipolar disorder.  Ms. Richardson utilizes mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) for relapse-prevention treatment for individuals with major depressive disorder (MDD). Her work involves intensive social work services requiring the exercise of mature professional judgment and the flexible use of a wide range of complex social work practice skills.
